This castle-like building opened New Years Eve 1908 with a gala ball. As you can see from the pictures, the main floor can hold 1000+ seated with a sizable dance floor left over. Throughout it’s life, the building hosted many of Tacoma’s Golden Glove boxing events, until it was recommissioned as an overflow facility for Pierce County jail inmates in 1989.

The facility is ideally situated next to the Pierce County courthouse and features a variety of offices on the lower level and two event spaces on the upper level.
